“Pagbibigay Dangal: A Heroes’ Welcome for the Philippines’ Paris 2024 Olympians”
ICYMI | Team Philippines of the Paris 2024 Olympics rode the stride of glory and honor on August 14, 2024, as they partake in “Pagbibigay Dangal: A Heroes’ Welcome for the Philippines’ Paris 2024 Olympians” homecoming parade.
The parade led by double gold medalist Carlos Yulo and bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas, traveled from Pasay City to Manila City in an Olympics-themed gigantic float. The streets of Taft were jammed with supporters and showered with patriotic roars from the Filipino people clamoring to witness the Olympians live.
Supporters from far and wide patiently waited for Team Philippines as various establishments like 7-ELEVEN, along Taft Avenue, Manila provided free amenities for the spectators to enjoy.
Once the float reached Pedro Gil Street, spectators, students, faculty and staff from the Philippine Christian University-Manila entered into a pandemonium as the Olympians arrived near their alma mater. The first ever in its history, the PCU community was unified outside and graced by the presence of Carlos Yulo along with Team Philippines, in a deep sense of collective pride and victory.
Beamed with joy, Team Philippines waved goodbye to the people on Pedro Gil as they continued to travel past the supporters, eventually reaching the parade’s end point—the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
