Faculty Research
Faculty Research in PCU is being strengthened to help the colleges deal with low productivity in research outputs. It is a program by CRIM where faculty members are encouraged to conduct a study for one semester with a 6-unit load remuneration. For the first semester (September 6, 2017), seven (7) faculty members applied to the program and three (3) for the second semester (January 15, 2018).
Here are the completed faculty studies in 2017-2018, first semester:

International Research Presentations
Some of our faculty members represent PCU in international conferences. During the International Conference on Knowledge, Culture, and Change in Organizations, Dr. Russwell Gariando presented his paper in Charles Darwin University, Australia, April 18-23, 2017.
A paper on “An Interdisciplinary Curriculum Model for Service Learning in Philippine Christian University” was as well presented during the 10th Interdisciplinary Conference on Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies (ASSHIS-17) on December 17-18, 2017.
Likewise, Prof. Anna Marie C. Abrera presented her paper on “Depression and Suicide Risk: Exploring the Moderating Role of Benevolence and Goal-Orientedness” during the ASEAN Regional Union of Psychological Society (ARUPS) Congress in Bali, Indonesia on February 20-22, 2018.
CRIM Activities
  1. SMEC Research Congress 2017 and 2018:

    PCU participated during the 2nd SMEC Research Congress in February 2017 where two faculty members presented their papers. It was held at the De La Salle University Manila. Likewise, six (6) faculty members presented their papers during the 3rd SMEC Research Congress in February 2018 held at the School of Design and Arts building of the College of St. Benilde. There were a total of 20 faculty and staff participated from PCU.

  3. 1st ACSCU Research Congress

    Funded by the Private Education Assistance Commission, the PCU-CRIM organized the Research Congress with the theme: “Landscaping the Competency: Education in the 21st Century” at the Mandell Hall, Trinity University of Asia on December 1, 2017. It ushered the discovery of new method of knowledge-sharing among the ACSCU member schools specifically in the National Capital Region and South Luzon. About 170 individuals participated the event from almost 15 universities from NCR, SL, Visayas and Mindanao. This became a venue to showcase the research best practices. This encouraged the member schools to further strengthen their research activity producing a diverse, quality and global research standards. Twenty seven (27) papers were included in the oral presentation and were categorized into 6 parallel sessions. The accepted research proposal will be compiled into a “Book of Abstract” and was distributed to the participants during the congress.

  5. Academic Dialogue

    The 3rd Academic Dialogue on “The Social Impact of AIDS” was held on October 5, 2017 at the University Auditorium as part of the education campaign of CRIM. Aside from providing information presented by the speakers, it aimed at sharing research opportunities for students and faculty concerning the social impact of AIDS.

  7. PCU Research Congress

    1. The College of Education-Graduate School partnered with the PCU-CRIM in conducting the Graduate School Research Colloquium on February 18, 2017. About 12 papers were presented to three (3) referees from University of the Philippines Manila, De La Salle University and St. Paul’s University
    2. The University Research Committee held a Research Congress for undergraduate students of Manila and Dasma Campus on April 20, 2017. Almost 200 students participated in the said congress held at the University Auditorium.
